DESCRIPTION

Gin clear and blue, the water invites us to jump in like some giant swimming pool where you can see the bottom from almost any vantage point, even though it's at least 60 feet away! The fish are not shy, and out beyond the wall, in the blue, a spotted eagle ray will invariably make an appearance. The Turks & Caicos Explorer hosted the ScubaCore crew for a week of archetypical Caribbean diving in crystal clear blue water. Some of the walls here are gradually sloping, and some drop off into thousands of feet of water. Deep-water gorgonians, corals, and sponges grow on the walls like vines on the side of an old building, and the eagle rays soar by like pterodactyl-inspired fantasies. Groupers in cleaning stations are plentiful, nestled on top of sponges or under ledges. On top of the reef, stingrays, hamlets and turtles are common sights. When the visibility is this good, it's easy to just relax, hang out, explore, and enjoy the view.
