The SOLMAR V journeys from Cabo San Lucas to the eastern Pacific islands known as the Revillagigedos, in search of encounters with big animals. People often refer to these islands as the Socorro Islands, but that's just the name of one of the islands, albeit one of the more impressive ones. Anat Grant and the ScubaCore crew were prepared for a fairly long crossing to these remote and coveted dive sites, with their legendary stories of manta encounters. The general consensus was that we'd probably see manta rays, and if we were lucky, perhaps a few more large pelagic creatures. Once we started diving at "The Boiler" on San Benedicto Island, the mantas allowed us into their world, and they may have been observing us as much as we were looking at them.

Roca Partida is a tiny little guano-covered rock in the middle of the ocean, but it is also one of the most amazing dive sites in the world. We spent half an hour playing with a pod of wild dolphins, and it was starting to get a bit unbelievable, and then the whale shark showed up. You have to see this to believe it, a living reef, dolphins, sharks, tuna, wahoo; all in a procession with a majestic whale shark. This ScubaCore show has all this and more, including a segment on remoras with resident marine expert Rachel McPherson.
