Uryu, Orihime, Chad, Ichigo and Yoruichi struggle past the cleaner and make it through to the Soul Society. They land in the Rukon District, a town on the outskirts of the Seireitei-where the Soul Reapers live. Just outside the Seireitei, they encounter an enormous giant named Jidanbo who guards the Hakuto Gate, one of four entrances that lead into the Seireitei Gate. Japanese with English Subtitles. Jidanbo succumbs to defeat and opens the Hakuto Gate, where Gin Ichimaru - the Captain of Squad Three, waits on the other side. Determined not to allow the gate to be opened to any intruders - particularly Ichigo and his entourage - he shuts the gate after blasting Jidanbo and Ichigo with his zanpaku-to. The people of the Rukon District befriend Ichigo, Yoruichi, Orihime and Chad, and thank them for protecting Jidanbo from Gin. Yoruichi decides that the group will need to select another method for entering the Seireitei and begins inquiring about the present address of Kukaku Shiba. Just as Ganju and his boar-riding gang are about to battle Ichigo and his friends, Ganju realizes it's Nine O'Clock and is forced to make a sudden departure. Ichigo's entourage is confused by Ganju's sudden departure, but quickly remember their main responsibility to find a way into the Seireitei and save Rukia. They follow a map given to them by an elder of the Rukon District and arrive at the absurd home of the even more absurd Kukaku Shiba. She has created a special device to get them inside the Seireitei. Meanwhile, at Repentance Palace, where Rukia is being held prisoner, guards Renji and Sosuke privately discuss their suspicions about orders for her special treatment.
